My dad had been asking me to paint something for him for so long, so I finally decided to paint him at the potter’s wheel. I wanted the painting to have a balance between realism and impressionism because this embodies the looseness and organic nature of the art of pottery. I chose blue because it conveys passion but also a kind of somberness.
